Zambian National Congress
The Zambian National Congress (ZNC) is a political party in Zambia, founded in 1960. It emerged during the struggle for independence from British colonial rule and aimed to promote national unity and social justice. The party played a significant role in advocating for the rights of Zambians and participated in the country's early political landscape.
After Zambia gained independence in 1964, the ZNC faced challenges in gaining political traction against the dominant United National Independence Party (UNIP). Over the years, the ZNC has undergone various transformations and has continued to advocate for democratic governance and the interests of its members within the Zambian political system.
