Zahhak
Zahhak is a character from Persian mythology, particularly known from the epic poem, the Shahnameh written by the poet Ferdowsi. He is depicted as a tyrannical king who becomes a symbol of evil and oppression. Zahhak is often described as having serpents growing from his shoulders, which he must feed with human brains to keep them at bay.
In the story, Zahhak's rise to power is marked by betrayal and dark magic. He is eventually overthrown by the hero Fereydun, who represents justice and righteousness. Zahhak's tale serves as a cautionary narrative about the consequences of tyranny and the importance of good governance.
