Yurok people
The Yurok people are a Native American tribe located in northern California, primarily along the Klamath River. They are one of the largest tribes in California and have a rich cultural heritage that includes traditional practices, languages, and crafts. The Yurok language is part of the Algic language family, and many community members are working to revitalize it.
Historically, the Yurok people relied on fishing, hunting, and gathering for their sustenance, with salmon being a central part of their diet. Today, they continue to engage in traditional practices while also participating in modern economic activities. The tribe is actively involved in preserving their culture and natural resources.
