Yuman Languages
The Yuman languages are a group of Native American languages primarily spoken in the southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico. This language family includes several distinct languages, such as Quechan, Cocopah, and Havasupai, which are used by various indigenous communities.
Yuman languages are known for their complex phonetic systems and rich morphological structures. They are part of the larger Yuman–Cochimí language family, which highlights their historical and linguistic connections. Efforts are ongoing to preserve these languages, as many speakers are aging and younger generations are less likely to learn them.
