Yokuts language
The Yokuts language is a group of Native American languages spoken by the Yokuts people in California's San Joaquin Valley. It belongs to the larger Penutian language family and includes several dialects, such as Northern Yokuts and Southern Yokuts.
Historically, the Yokuts language was used for daily communication, storytelling, and cultural practices. However, it has faced decline due to colonization and the influence of English. Efforts are being made to revitalize the language through education and community programs, aiming to preserve the rich heritage of the Yokuts people.
