Yi Seong-gye
Yi Seong-gye was a prominent Korean military leader and the founder of the Joseon Dynasty, which ruled Korea from 1392 to 1910. Born in 1335, he initially served the Goryeo Dynasty but later led a successful rebellion against it, establishing a new era in Korean history.
As king, Yi Seong-gye took the throne as King Taejo and implemented significant reforms, including the promotion of Confucianism and the establishment of a centralized government. His reign marked the beginning of a long-lasting dynasty that greatly influenced Korean culture, politics, and society.
