Yi (Ethics)
Yi is a concept in Chinese philosophy that refers to righteousness or moral integrity. It emphasizes the importance of doing what is right, even in the face of personal loss or difficulty. Yi is often associated with the teachings of Confucius, who believed that a virtuous life is essential for maintaining social harmony and personal fulfillment.
In the context of Confucianism, Yi is one of the key virtues, alongside Ren (benevolence) and Li (proper conduct). Practicing Yi involves making ethical decisions based on principles rather than self-interest, promoting justice and moral responsibility within society.
