Yan State is a historical region located in present-day China, known for its significant role during the Warring States period. It was one of the seven major states that competed for dominance in the region, characterized by its strategic location and rich resources.
The capital of Yan State was Ji, which is near modern-day Beijing. The state was known for its strong military and alliances, as well as its cultural contributions, including advancements in philosophy and literature. Ultimately, Yan State was conquered by the Qin Dynasty, which unified China in 221 BCE.
