Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy
Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, commonly known as YSR, was an influential Indian politician and the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 2004 until his untimely death in 2009. He was a member of the Indian National Congress party and played a significant role in implementing various welfare programs aimed at improving the lives of the poor and marginalized communities in the state.
Born on July 8, 1949, in Pulivendula, YSR was a medical doctor before entering politics. He was known for his charismatic leadership and commitment to rural development. His legacy includes the popular Arogyasri health insurance scheme and the Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu program, which focused on youth employment.
