Xiuhtecuhtli
Xiuhtecuhtli is the Aztec god of fire, heat, and the sun. He is often depicted as an elderly man with a blue or green face, symbolizing the color of fire and the sky. As a central figure in Aztec mythology, he represents the life-giving power of fire and is associated with the renewal of life.
In addition to being the god of fire, Xiuhtecuhtli is also linked to time and the calendar. He is often honored during the New Fire ceremony, which occurs every 52 years to mark the end of a cycle and the beginning of a new one. This ritual emphasizes his importance in maintaining cosmic order.
