Xianfeng Emperor
The Xianfeng Emperor was the ninth emperor of the Qing Dynasty in China, ruling from 1850 to 1861. Born on July 17, 1831, he ascended to the throne at the age of 19 after the death of his father, the Daoguang Emperor. His reign was marked by internal strife, including the Taiping Rebellion, which significantly weakened the Qing government.
During his rule, the Xianfeng Emperor faced challenges from foreign powers, leading to the Second Opium War and the signing of unequal treaties. His inability to effectively manage these crises contributed to the decline of the Qing Dynasty, and he died on August 22, 1861.
