Wols
Wols, whose real name was Alfred Otto Wolfgang Schulze, was a German painter and photographer born in 1913. He became known for his abstract expressionist style, which combined elements of surrealism and informal art. Wols moved to Paris in the 1930s, where he became part of the vibrant art scene and developed his unique approach to painting.
His work often featured spontaneous brushwork and a focus on color and texture, reflecting his emotional state. Wols's art gained recognition in the post-World War II period, and he is considered an important figure in the European art movement of the 20th century. He passed away in 1951.
