Wishing Lanterns
Wishing Lanterns are small, lightweight paper lanterns that are traditionally released into the sky during celebrations and festivals. They are typically made from rice paper and have a small flame source, such as a candle or fuel cell, at the bottom. When lit, the heat from the flame causes the lantern to rise, carrying the wishes of the person releasing it into the air.
These lanterns are often associated with various cultural events, such as the Lantern Festival in China or Yi Peng in Thailand. People write their wishes on the lanterns before releasing them, believing that the act will bring good luck and fulfillment of their hopes.
