Wisconsin State Legislature
The Wisconsin State Legislature is the legislative branch of the state government of Wisconsin. It is a bicameral body, meaning it has two chambers: the Wisconsin State Assembly and the Wisconsin State Senate. Together, these chambers are responsible for creating and passing state laws, as well as overseeing the state budget and other important matters.
The Wisconsin State Assembly consists of 99 members, while the Wisconsin State Senate has 33 members. Legislators are elected by the citizens of Wisconsin and serve specific terms. The legislature meets annually in Madison, the state capital, to discuss and vote on proposed legislation.
