Wisconsin Lighthouses
Wisconsin is home to over 40 lighthouses, many of which are located along the shores of Lake Michigan and Lake Superior. These historic structures were built to guide ships safely through the Great Lakes, especially during foggy or stormy weather. Each lighthouse has its own unique design and history, reflecting the maritime heritage of the region.
Some of the most notable lighthouses include the Wisconsin Point Lighthouse in Superior and the Racine Harbor Lighthouse. Many of these lighthouses are still operational, while others have been preserved as historical sites.
