William de Braose
William de Braose was a prominent medieval nobleman in England and Wales during the 12th century. He was born around 1160 and became the Lord of Braose in Herefordshire. De Braose was known for his role in the Norman conquest of Wales and his loyalty to King John of England, which helped him gain significant lands and power.
However, his fortunes changed when he fell out of favor with King John. In 1208, de Braose was accused of treason and fled to France. His family faced severe repercussions, and his descendants struggled to maintain their status, marking a dramatic shift in the de Braose legacy.
