William Kissam Vanderbilt
William Kissam Vanderbilt was an American businessman and a prominent member of the Vanderbilt family. Born on June 12, 1849, he was the grandson of Cornelius Vanderbilt, the founder of the New York Central Railroad. William played a significant role in managing the family's extensive railroad and shipping interests during the late 19th century.
In addition to his business ventures, Vanderbilt was known for his passion for horse racing and breeding. He owned several successful racehorses and was involved in the establishment of the Newport Casino in Rhode Island. William Kissam Vanderbilt passed away on December 8, 1920.
