Wild Turkeys
Wild turkeys are large birds native to North America, known for their distinctive fan-shaped tails and iridescent feathers. They can weigh between 5 to 30 pounds and are typically brown or black with white markings. Wild turkeys are omnivorous, feeding on seeds, nuts, fruits, and insects, and they are often found in forests, grasslands, and wetlands.
These birds are social creatures, often seen in flocks, especially during the non-breeding season. Wild turkeys are also known for their impressive flying abilities, capable of short bursts up to 55 miles per hour. Their vocalizations, including gobbles and clucks, play a crucial role in communication within their groups.
