White-Handed Gibbon
The White-Handed Gibbon, also known as the Lar Gibbon, is a small primate found in the forests of Southeast Asia, particularly in countries like Thailand, Myanmar, and Vietnam. They are known for their long arms and distinctive white hands and feet, which contrast with their dark fur. These gibbons are highly agile and are excellent at swinging through trees, a behavior known as brachiation.
White-Handed Gibbons are social animals, typically living in small family groups. They communicate using a variety of vocalizations, including loud calls that can be heard over long distances. Their diet mainly consists of fruits, leaves, and flowers, making them important for seed dispersal in their habitat.
