White Knight Syndrome
"White Knight Syndrome" refers to a psychological phenomenon where an individual feels compelled to rescue or save others, often at the expense of their own well-being. This behavior can stem from a desire for validation, a need to feel important, or unresolved personal issues. People exhibiting this syndrome may become overly involved in the problems of others, believing they can fix them.
This syndrome is commonly seen in relationships, where one partner, often referred to as the White Knight, takes on a caretaker role. While the intention may be to help, it can lead to unhealthy dynamics, enabling the other person’s issues and preventing both individuals from achieving personal growth.
