White Horse of Uffington
The White Horse of Uffington is a large chalk hill figure located in Oxfordshire, England. It measures about 110 meters long and is believed to date back to the late Bronze Age or early Iron Age, around 1000 BC. The figure represents a stylized horse and is made by cutting into the chalk bedrock, revealing the white chalk underneath.
Surrounding the horse are several archaeological features, including the Uffington Castle, an ancient hillfort, and the Wayland's Smithy, a Neolithic long barrow. The site is a popular tourist attraction and is part of the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
