Western Tarsier
The Western Tarsier is a small primate found in the forests of Southeast Asia, particularly on the islands of Borneo and Sumatra. It is known for its large eyes, which provide excellent night vision, allowing it to hunt insects and small animals in the dark. This species has a distinctive appearance, with a round face and long fingers adapted for climbing.
Western Tarsiers are primarily nocturnal and are social animals, often living in small groups. They communicate through a variety of vocalizations and body language. Their habitat is threatened by deforestation and habitat loss, making conservation efforts important for their survival.
