Westerlies
The Westerlies are prevailing winds that blow from the west to the east in the mid-latitudes of the Earth, typically between 30 and 60 degrees latitude in both hemispheres. These winds are a result of the Earth's rotation and the uneven heating of the atmosphere. They play a significant role in weather patterns and ocean currents.
In the Northern Hemisphere, the Westerlies are generally stronger than in the Southern Hemisphere due to the presence of more landmasses. They influence the movement of storm systems and can affect climate conditions in regions such as North America and Europe.
