Polar Easterlies
Polar easterlies are cold winds that blow from the polar regions toward the mid-latitudes. These winds originate from the high-pressure areas over the polar ice caps and move eastward due to the Earth's rotation. They are typically found in both the Arctic and Antarctic regions.
These winds play a significant role in the global climate system by influencing weather patterns and ocean currents. The polar easterlies can also contribute to the formation of polar front systems, which are important for the development of storms in the mid-latitudes.
