West Riding Regiment
The West Riding Regiment was an infantry regiment of the British Army, formed in 1881. It was created by merging several local volunteer units in the West Riding of Yorkshire. The regiment served in various conflicts, including both World Wars, and was known for its distinctive cap badge featuring a white rose, symbolizing its Yorkshire heritage.
In 1968, the West Riding Regiment was amalgamated into the Prince of Wales's Own Regiment of Yorkshire. Throughout its history, the regiment earned a reputation for bravery and service, contributing to military efforts in numerous campaigns around the world.
