West Pakistan
West Pakistan was a region that existed from 1947 to 1971, following the partition of British India. It was part of the newly formed state of Pakistan, which was divided into two geographically and culturally distinct areas: West Pakistan and East Pakistan. West Pakistan included present-day Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The division led to significant political and economic disparities between the two regions. Tensions escalated over time, culminating in the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971, which resulted in the independence of East Pakistan, now known as Bangladesh. This marked the end of West Pakistan as a distinct entity.
