West African Examinations Council
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) is an examination board established in 1952 to conduct standardized tests in several West African countries. It is responsible for the administration of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), which assesses the academic performance of students at the end of their secondary education.
WAEC operates in five member countries: Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, The Gambia, and Liberia. The council aims to promote educational excellence and ensure that examinations are fair and credible, providing a reliable certification for students seeking further education or employment opportunities.
