Wendat people
The Wendat people, also known as the Huron, are an Indigenous group originally from the region around the Great Lakes in North America. They traditionally lived in longhouses and practiced agriculture, growing crops like corn, beans, and squash, often referred to as the "Three Sisters." Their society was organized into clans, each with its own responsibilities and roles.
Historically, the Wendat were known for their extensive trade networks and interactions with other Indigenous groups and European settlers. They played a significant role in the fur trade during the 17th century, forming alliances with the French against rival tribes. Today, the Wendat continue to preserve their culture and heritage while engaging in modern society.
