Welsh saints
Welsh saints are early Christian figures who played a significant role in spreading Christianity throughout Wales. Many of these saints are associated with specific locations, often founding churches or monastic communities. They are celebrated for their piety, miracles, and contributions to the spiritual life of the region.
The most notable Welsh saint is Saint David, the patron saint of Wales, who is believed to have lived in the 6th century. Other important figures include Saint Illtud and Saint Teilo, each contributing to the establishment of Christianity in their respective areas. These saints are commemorated in various festivals and place names across Wales.
