Weather Modification
Weather modification refers to the deliberate alteration of weather patterns to achieve specific outcomes, such as increasing rainfall or reducing hail damage. Techniques include cloud seeding, where substances like silver iodide are dispersed into clouds to encourage precipitation. This practice is often used in agriculture to enhance crop yields or in areas facing drought.
Another method of weather modification is hurricane modification, which aims to weaken storms before they make landfall. While these techniques have shown some success, they also raise ethical and environmental concerns, as altering natural weather patterns can have unforeseen consequences on ecosystems and local climates.
