Cloud Seeding
Cloud seeding is a weather modification technique aimed at enhancing precipitation. It involves dispersing substances, such as silver iodide or sodium chloride, into the atmosphere to encourage clouds to produce rain or snow. This process can be conducted using aircraft or ground-based generators.
The goal of cloud seeding is to increase water supply in areas experiencing drought or to improve snowfall in ski resorts. While some studies suggest it can be effective, the overall impact and ethical considerations of manipulating weather patterns remain subjects of ongoing research and debate.
