Water Horses
Water Horses, often referred to as Kelpie in Scottish folklore, are mythical creatures said to inhabit lakes and rivers. They are typically depicted as horse-like beings that can transform into a beautiful horse to lure unsuspecting travelers. Once someone approaches, the Water Horse may drag them into the water, where they are believed to drown.
In addition to Kelpies, similar water-dwelling creatures appear in various cultures, such as the Nuckelavee from Orkney and the Bunyip from Australian Aboriginal mythology. These legends often serve as cautionary tales, warning people to stay away from dangerous waters.
