Wasp Stings
A wasp sting occurs when a wasp injects venom through its stinger into the skin. This venom contains proteins that can cause pain, swelling, and redness at the sting site. Most people experience mild reactions, but some may have more severe allergic reactions, known as anaphylaxis, which can be life-threatening.
To treat a wasp sting, it is important to remove the stinger if it is still present, clean the area, and apply a cold compress to reduce swelling. Over-the-counter pain relievers and antihistamines can help alleviate discomfort. If symptoms worsen or breathing difficulties arise, seek medical attention immediately.
