Wang Hongwen
Wang Hongwen was a prominent Chinese politician and a key figure during the Cultural Revolution, which took place from 1966 to 1976. Born on October 20, 1935, he rose to power as a member of the Gang of Four, a political group that played a significant role in the radical policies of the time. Wang was known for his close association with Mao Zedong and his efforts to promote Maoist ideology.
After the fall of the Gang of Four in 1976, Wang Hongwen was arrested and later tried for his actions during the Cultural Revolution. He was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1981. Following his release in 1991 due to health issues, he lived a quiet life until his death on April 3, 1992.
