Walter Mondale
Walter Mondale was an American politician and lawyer who served as the 42nd Vice President of the United States from 1977 to 1981 under President Jimmy Carter. He was known for his strong advocacy of social justice and civil rights, and he played a key role in shaping domestic policies during his time in office.
In 1984, Mondale became the Democratic Party's nominee for President, making history by selecting Geraldine Ferraro as his running mate, the first woman to be nominated for vice president by a major party. Although he lost the election to Ronald Reagan, Mondale's campaign was significant for its focus on progressive issues and gender equality.
