Walter Langley

He is best known for his association with the Newlyn School, a group of artists who focused on painting scenes of everyday life in the fishing village of Newlyn, Cornwall. Langley's work often depicted the lives of local fishermen and their families, showcasing the beauty of their surroundings.
Langley was a pioneer of the plein air painting technique, which involves painting outdoors to capture natural light and atmosphere. His style combined realism with a deep appreciation for the local culture, making his works significant in the context of 19th-century British art. He passed away in 1922.
