Walnut Farmers
Walnut farmers are agricultural producers who cultivate walnut trees for their nuts. These farmers typically grow two main varieties: English walnuts and Black walnuts. The farming process involves planting, nurturing, and harvesting the trees, which can take several years to mature and produce nuts.
In addition to growing walnuts, these farmers manage their orchards by controlling pests, ensuring proper irrigation, and maintaining soil health. Harvesting usually occurs in late summer to early fall, when the nuts are ripe. After harvesting, the walnuts are processed and packaged for sale in various markets, including grocery stores and online retailers.
