Walachia
Walachia is a historical region located in the southern part of modern-day Romania. It is bordered by the Carpathian Mountains to the north and the Danube River to the south. Known for its rich agricultural land, Walachia played a significant role in the development of the Romanian principalities during the Middle Ages.
The region was established in the 14th century and became a center for trade and culture. It was ruled by various princes, including the famous Vlad the Impaler, who inspired the Dracula legend. Today, Walachia is part of Romania and includes major cities like Bucharest.
