WASP-106
WASP-106 is an exoplanet located approximately 200 light-years away from Earth in the constellation Crater. It is classified as a hot Jupiter, meaning it is a gas giant similar in size to Jupiter but orbits very close to its host star, resulting in high surface temperatures.
The planet was discovered by the Wide Angle Search for Planets (WASP) project, which aims to find transiting exoplanets. WASP-106 has a mass about 0.8 times that of Jupiter and completes an orbit around its star in just over 5 days, making it an interesting subject for studying planetary atmospheres and formation.
