WASP-109
WASP-109 is an exoplanet located approximately 330 light-years away from Earth in the constellation of Phoenix. It is classified as a hot Jupiter, which means it is a gas giant similar in size to Jupiter but orbits very close to its host star, resulting in high surface temperatures.
The planet was discovered using the Transit Method, where it passes in front of its star, causing a temporary dimming that can be detected from Earth. WASP-109 has a mass about 0.9 times that of Jupiter and completes an orbit around its star in just over 4 days.
