Vostok 2
Vostok 2 was a Soviet space mission that took place on August 12, 1961. It was the second manned flight in the Vostok program, following Vostok 1, which carried Yuri Gagarin, the first human in space. Vostok 2 was piloted by Gherman Titov, who orbited the Earth 17 times during the mission, spending over 25 hours in space.
The mission aimed to gather more data on the effects of space travel on the human body. Vostok 2 also tested various spacecraft systems and contributed to the understanding of orbital mechanics. This mission helped pave the way for future human space exploration.
