Volume Group
A Volume Group is a storage management concept used in computer systems, particularly in Logical Volume Management (LVM). It allows multiple physical storage devices, such as hard drives or SSDs, to be combined into a single logical unit. This makes it easier to manage storage space, allocate resources, and perform tasks like resizing or moving data without affecting the overall system.
Within a Volume Group, individual storage units are called Logical Volumes. These volumes can be created, deleted, or resized as needed, providing flexibility for system administrators. This setup is commonly used in server environments to optimize storage efficiency and improve data management.
