Vladimir Vernadsky

He is best recognized for developing the concept of the biosphere, which describes the global sum of all ecosystems and emphasizes the role of living organisms in shaping the Earth's environment.
Vernadsky also played a significant role in the establishment of geochemistry as a scientific discipline.
