Vladimír Remek
Vladimír Remek is a Czech astronaut and politician, known for being the first Czechoslovak citizen in space. He flew aboard the Soviet spacecraft Soyuz 28 in March 1978, spending nearly eight days on the Salyut 7 space station, where he conducted scientific experiments.
After his space mission, Remek pursued a career in politics and served as a member of the European Parliament from 2004 to 2009. He has been an advocate for space exploration and has contributed to various scientific and educational initiatives in the Czech Republic.
