Visual Pathway
The visual pathway is the route that visual information takes from the eyes to the brain. It begins when light enters the eye and is focused on the retina, where photoreceptor cells convert it into electrical signals. These signals travel through the optic nerve, which carries them to the brain for processing.
Once the signals reach the brain, they first arrive at the lateral geniculate nucleus (LGN) in the thalamus. From there, the information is sent to the primary visual cortex in the occipital lobe, where it is interpreted, allowing us to perceive shapes, colors, and movement.
