Virtue ethics
Virtue ethics is a moral philosophy that emphasizes the role of character and virtues in ethical decision-making. Unlike other ethical theories that focus on rules or consequences, virtue ethics centers on the individual's character traits, such as honesty, courage, and compassion. The idea is that by cultivating these virtues, a person can lead a good and fulfilling life.
This approach is often associated with ancient philosophers like Aristotle, who believed that virtues are habits developed through practice. According to virtue ethics, moral behavior arises from a person's character rather than from following strict rules or calculating outcomes, promoting a holistic view of ethics.
