Virginia State Senate
The Virginia State Senate is the upper chamber of the Virginia General Assembly, which is the legislative body of the state of Virginia. It consists of 40 members who are elected to serve four-year terms. Senators represent various districts across the state and are responsible for proposing and voting on laws, as well as addressing issues that affect their constituents.
The Senate works alongside the Virginia House of Delegates, the lower chamber, to create and amend state legislation. Sessions typically occur annually, and the Senate plays a crucial role in shaping policies related to education, healthcare, transportation, and more within Virginia.
