Virginia Clemm
Virginia Clemm was the wife of the famous American writer Edgar Allan Poe. Born on August 15, 1822, she was also his first cousin. The couple married on May 16, 1836, when Virginia was just 13 years old, and Poe was 27. Their relationship was marked by deep affection, but it was also challenged by financial difficulties and Virginia's health issues.
Virginia suffered from tuberculosis, which significantly impacted their lives together. She passed away on January 30, 1847, at the age of 24. Her death profoundly affected Poe, influencing his later works and contributing to the themes of loss and mourning found in his poetry and stories.
