Viktor Yushchenko
Viktor Yushchenko is a Ukrainian politician who served as the President of Ukraine from 2005 to 2010. He is known for his role in the Orange Revolution, a series of protests that arose in response to the controversial 2004 presidential election. Yushchenko's presidency focused on democratic reforms and closer ties with the European Union.
Before his presidency, Yushchenko was the Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine and later served as Prime Minister. His political career was marked by his pro-Western stance and efforts to combat corruption. Yushchenko's leadership was also notable for his struggle against the effects of dioxin poisoning, which he suffered during the 2004 election campaign.
