Viktor Yanukovych
Viktor Yanukovych is a Ukrainian politician who served as the President of Ukraine from 2010 until 2014. He was born on July 9, 1950, in the Donetsk region. Yanukovych was previously the Prime Minister of Ukraine and was associated with the Party of Regions, a political party that represented the interests of the Russian-speaking population in Ukraine.
His presidency was marked by controversy, particularly regarding his decision to suspend an association agreement with the European Union in favor of closer ties with Russia. This decision led to widespread protests known as the Euromaidan, which ultimately resulted in his ousting in February 2014.
